Hello my friends!
Something wrong with this post? No? Yes? … Maybe yes, because today I will try to write a little speech for you in English. I hope so! 🙂
Let’s go there!!!
Today I talk about the Haloween (is shortened from “All Hallows’ Even”). This party is celebrated annually on October 31th and most popular in North America countries. According with Wikipedia, this party origins in the ancient festival know as Samhain. This was a Gaelic festival celebrated mainly in Ireland and Scotland. The celebration has some elements of a festival of the dead. The ancient Celts believed that the border between this world and Otherworld(an abstract spiritual world beyond earthly reality) became thin on Samhain, allowing spirits (both harmless and harmful) to pass through.
It’s my firt Halloween living and the people had started to prepare your houses in a weeks ago. It’s very funny because the people put in fron os your houses, many kinds of the dead elements, like skeleton, ghosts, zombies, spiders, witches and, of course, the tradicional pumpkin. At the beginning of this post, you can see a picture of a house with this decoration. This picture was take when I came back to home yesterday.
At this night, children go in costumes from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or something money, always with the question: “Trick or treat?”. If you want to participate this party, you have to put a pumpkin in the door from your house. It’s a password for the children. 🙂
The party really is part of the local culture, because isn’t only children use the costumes. The adults also. I didn’t believe today, when I went to school two adults take the bus using costumes. One using a jaquet with skeleton draw and other using a witch hat… It’s very funny!
Well, That’s all…
I hope that this post has been good and you has liked it.
Happy Halloween for everybody and have a nice weekend!
Bye!
Ps: BTW, I apologize for any grammar errors… I’m sorry… 😦
